San Francisco to New York - #08# (Yosemite National Park,Death Valley - California)

On my way from Frisco to Yosemite National Park and the Death Valley.

Fire is a natural part of both forest and grassland ecology and controlled fire is a technique sometimes used in forest management.

Tuolumne River is crossing Yosemite National Park.

...which at some point creates a superb natural beach.

This is the Alpine zone of Yosemite.

Tioga Road was built to promote mining in the wild country.

Death Valley is home to extreme such as lowest point, driest weather and hottest temperatures in North America.

10.00 am and the temperature meter shows 46 degrees Celcius.

After this point on my way to Badwater Basin (which lies 86 meters below sea level), temperature was reported at 49 degrees Celsius and camera stops working.

Zabriskie Point in Death Valley film setting for Antonioni's namesake movie. (digital camera still in shock)

At the end of the valley out of the blue, the Amargosa Opera House.
